It is 30 years since the world of F1 lost one of the greats in Ayrton Senna. Ahead of the Emilio Romagna Grand Prix, the drivers have been paying tribute to the Brazilian legend, and telling the world just what he meant to them.
Incredibly, only a few are old enough to have watched Senna race live – with Fernando Alonso calling him an “inspiration”, while his impact on Lewis Hamilton is well known.

But Senna remains an idol for all of the grid, with Pierre Gasly often paying tribute via special helmet designs, Charles Leclerc saying Senna is the only idol he’s ever had while Oscar Piastri described him as “the ultimate driver.”
